Let's talk about chains!
Do you know the difference between different grades of chaines? It is important to know their respective applications. In this article, we explain the different grades of chaines. From grade 30 to 100, learn the importance of the different categories:
___________________________________________________
Grade 30
This chain is a general purpose chain for all ordinary applications not requiring high strength characteristics. Frequently used for light duty tow chains, tie down chains and logging chains. Identified with ""L3"" or similar grade marking. Self-colored, Electro Zinc plated and hot dip galvanized.
Packaged in drums, half drums, pails and binder chain assemblies.
Not for overhead lifting.

Grade 70 Transport Chain
An improvement over High Test chain, Grade 70 Transport chain meets stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations with a smaller, easier to handle chain. Identified with "L7" or similar grade marking. Supplied in yellow (gold) chromate finish for easy identification and rust prevention.
Packaged in drums, pails and cut to order.
Not for overhead lifting.

Grade 80 Alloy Chain
Grade 80 Alloy chain is a rugged, versatile, high strength chain manufactured from special alloy steel. This chain is quenched and tempered and proof tested. Meets NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and OSHA(Occupational Safety & Health Administration) specifications. Identified with "L8", "P8" or similar grade marking. Certified lifting assemblies available on special order. Black protective finish applied.
Packaged in drums, pails and cut to order.
Approved for overhead lifting.

Grade 100 Alloy Chain
Manufactured from special analysis alloy steel, Grade 100 chain has a comparatively high carbon content as well as containing various other alloying elements making it a rugged, versatile, high strength chain . This chain is quenched and tempered and then proof tested. Meets NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and OSHA(Occupational Safety & Health Administration) specifications. Identified with "L10", "P10" or similar grade marking. Certified lifting assemblies available on special order. Gray armor protective finish applied.
Packaged in drums, pails and cut to order.
Approved for overhead lifting.
